Sometimes I’m editing a picture, see…
And I don’t know how to use Photoshop.
I’m not an expert. But I still put effort into it.
Until I realise I’ve been obsessing
over some minute detail for so long
that I scream, “F*CK THE GOLDEN RATIO!”
excessively loudly – far, far too loudly,
practically daring my neighbors to comment
through the walls that nobody thought to make thicker –
and in my world, this is considered cathartic.
Then I blare “Oxford Comma” by Vampire Weekend.

There is a part of me that is very grounded in reality and has little to no tolerance for poetic license. It wants you to know the biggest biological differences you will experience with infatuation deal with changes in levels of seratonin, dopamine, and so on while the likelihood of you having a sudden heart attack (…you being a healthy teenager for the sake of this argument…) remains about the same as the likelihood that you will spontaneously combust. (Higher, actually, but for the sake of hyperbole in the part about being realistic, just go with me on that one.)

This realistic part of me also loves Demi because she is remarkably beautiful inside and out, carries herself with grace, and sings like the superstar she is. So there is that as well.

(I feel really lame for feeling the need to point the first part out considering it’s obvious. I also have issues with Jordin Sparks’s “Tattoo,” various other songs, and certain expressions, too, as you can probably imagine.)
